The Weeping Fig is native to India, Southeast Asia, Southwest Pacific and Northern Australia. It can reach 40 to 50 feet tall in nature. This tree has excellent Bonsai growing potential due to the easy maintenance and rapid growth.
This evergreen tree produces branches that tend to be drooping. The bark of the tree is very smooth and pale brown in colour. In humid conditions and when the tree matures, it develops aerial roots, originating from the branches. These roots give character to the tree and form secondary trunks when they touch the ground. The Weeping Fig has arched branches, adorned with small dark green, pointed leaves and a leathery texture.
