Dark green needles with purple cones
Suitable for fall bonsai styles, except broom
The species is native to South Korea and Jeju. The Korean Fir has smooth bark, and produces a dense, pyramidal crown and dark green, needlelike leaves with white undersides. The compact, upright cones are an attractive purplish blue color.
The needles are mid green with a silvery underside, short and flattened. They spiral around the whole stem. The fresh growth when it emerges, bursts from the buds a bright yellow green.
